Yves Cuilleron stands as one of the most influential and celebrated winemakers of the Northern Rhône. When he took over his family’s estate in 1987 — founded by his grandfather in 1920 — it covered just 3.5 hectares. Through vision, dedication, and an uncompromising pursuit of quality, he has grown it to over 90 hectares today, producing around twenty references across some of the appellation’s most prestigious terroirs, including Condrieu, Côte-Rôtie, Saint-Joseph, Cornas, and Saint-Péray.

With an annual production exceeding 250,000 bottles, Cuilleron is a driving force behind the renaissance of the Northern Rhône, helping restore the region’s international standing and bringing a new generation of wine lovers to its exceptional appellations.

What sets Cuilleron apart is his unwavering commitment to a distinctive house style. Maturing his whites for nine months and his reds for eighteen months in wood, he coaxes depth and character from each parcel while preserving the nuance and finesse that define great Rhône wines. He practises parcel-by-parcel vinification and separates old vines from younger ones — a philosophy rooted in the belief that every wine must carry both the identity of its terroir and the unmistakable Cuilleron signature.

In 1997, alongside fellow winemakers Laurent Villard and Pierre Gaillard, Yves co-founded Les Vins de Vienne — a project that has since earned its own global recognition and stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit and ambition that define this remarkable corner of France.
