100% Ugni Blanc

The summer of 2023 was cool compared to the previous vintages. Resultantly Romain pushed the maturity on the Ugni a little more (searching for more aromats and depth) rather than seeking acidity and freshness first. He has continued this with subsequent vintages and Le Clau is showing superbly. Yellow fruits, nashi pear and some pineapple. Concentrated, fine phenolics caress. Sappy. Lifted, freshness at the back. There’s texture and generosity and a fine acid line runs through. Balanced and digestible. Loves oxygen.
