Made from Mourvèdre grapes grown in a vineyard situated on deep scree soils facing due East, complemented by 5% Syrah. Vineyard management uses the Cordon de Royat training system.
Harvested by hand with yields of 30 hl/ha.
Traditional winemaking in conical wooden vats with regular punching of the cap which stands the wines in good stead for lengthy cask maturation lasting 24 months.
Organic wine

In the late 80’s, André Leenhardt took over a property that was abandoned. Since then, almost all the vines have been replaced and the vinification cellar renewed.


Only 20km north of Montpellier, Château de Cazeneuve is located right in the middle of “Pic St Loup”, one of the most popular Coteaux du Languedoc cru. In this area, the various soils added to the climate give freshness and elegance to the wines.

The 25-hectare vineyard of Château de Cazeneuve lays in a South/South-East facing amphitheatre, between 100 and 400m of altitude on 2 different types of soils : – clay and limestone scree in the upper part

– soft clay soils and marls in the lower part.

 In 2007, we applied for organic certification (ECOCERT) for the entire property, this allowing us to label our bottles “AB” from vintage 2010 on.

During vinification:work by gravity, destemming, sorting-table, grape varieties vinified separately in short-sized concrete vats or stainless steel vats( temperature-controlled), followed by long lasting ageing.

 Blend 2 different grape varieties (95% Mourvèdre, 5% Syrah) Small yields, long lasting maceration period and 2 years oak-ageing.
