Description
The Roero region lies to the left of the Tanaro River and encompasses 19 villages, sharing many similarities with the Langhe. Its rugged, steep terrain provides ideal viticultural conditions, with strong diurnal temperature variation, excellent drainage and constant airflow. Musso’s vineyards sit high on the slopes above the village of Roero, at over 350 metres above sea level, with prized south to south-west exposure. The result is a classic Arneis, showing vibrant minerality, ripe acidity and generous fruit, all brought together in a palate that is both crisp and beautifully balanced.
94 Points, Tip Top Tipple- Kasia Sobiesiak, TWF – “Slated pistachios and green pears, green melon, almonds, aniseed and flint. This is a great start. The flavour composition is striking. The zing of acid, the electric feel of flinty minerality, a la oyster juice, runs on the sides of the tongue, flooding the mouth. There’s fine but firming texture and tension, very savoury finish, crushed white flowers, crushed rocks and that bitter-phenolic green almond feel in the aftertaste. Delizioso!”
