Description

We had a release of this wine in July 2025 but the de Moors did not sell it all last year. They kept some back for fear of a disastrous harvest, which thankfully did not eventuate and offered the rest to us this year. One of two of the de Moors’ vineyards in premier cru climats, Mont de Milieu is on the right bank of the River Serein. The soil is Kimmeridgian marl and limestone with Portlandian limestone scree. With a southerly exposure it is one of the warmest Chablis climats.  This vintage was vinified 2/3 in a clay amphora and 1/3 in barrels for 12 months. It was then blended and aged for a further year in a 2500 litre barrel. It was bottled in November 2024. This vintage was lightly filtered. The wine has a richness and generous expansiveness about it.  It has had an extra year of aging in bottle.
