Reliefs 2022 is drawn from old vines on schist, mainly Carignan (60–100 years old) with Grenache Noir, Syrah and a touch of Lledoner Pelut.

The nose is intense and savoury, with wild red berries, black plum liqueur and crushed pepper layered over notes of garrigue, cured meat and tobacco leaf. On the palate it is powerful and structured, with firm, sanguine tannins balanced by vibrant acidity and fine bitters on the finish. Rich fruit, spice and earthy complexity are seamlessly integrated, giving both depth and tension, lifted by the schist soils.

Fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats using whole berries and whole clusters, then aged for around 10 months in concrete and 500L barrels, followed by 6 months in bottle.

On the wild northern edge of Catalunya, in the windswept foothills of the Pyrenees, Domaine Roc des Anges crafts wines of purity, light and remarkable finesse. These are mountain vineyards, often north-facing, where cool nights preserve tension and Mediterranean days bring ripeness without excess, yielding wines that pulse with energy, elegance and precision.

Rooted in decomposed schist – light, sandy, and poor in nutrients – the vines must dig deep for life. Dry farming and biodynamic cultivation give grapes that are naturally moderate in alcohol yet rich in salinity, acidity and finesse. Yields are extremely low (around 20 hl/ha), a natural restraint that underpins the wines’ depth, clarity and mineral purity.

Across 83 parcels and 50 biodynamically farmed hectares, many vines are over a century old; others come from ancient massale selections, including nearly forgotten Mediterranean varieties such as Carignan Gris. Together, they form a living memory of traditional viticulture, brought back to its roots.
