Description

The Monte Ronca label is the red wine project of the Fattori family, who have been viticulturists in Italy's Veneto region for over a century.

• Late 1800s: The Fattori family (originally known as Gastaldi) began farming and planting vines in the hills of Terrossa.
• 1919: Grandfather Antonio Fattori returned from WWI to find his vineyards destroyed by phylloxera; he spent years replanting and restoring the estate.
• 1970s–1980s: The current enologist, also named Antonio Fattori, took over the family business. He was the first in the family to study professional winemaking and began modernizing their techniques.
• Early 1990s: After decades of selling bulk wine to neighbouring properties, Antonio decided to produce and bottle wine under his own label to reach international markets.
• 2009: The family expanded into the Valpolicella region by acquiring 12 hectares of high-altitude vineyards in Bastia.

A blend primarily consisting of Corvina, with smaller portions of Corvinone, Rondinella, and Teroldego. Some variations or specific bottlings may also include Molinara. Features bright red fruit flavours like sour cherry and raspberry, accompanied by notes of dried herbs, tobacco, and dried sage. It typically has a soft, silky tannin profile and refreshing acidity.

Grapes are hand-picked from high-altitude vineyards (up to 450 meters) on limestone and clay soil, fermented mostly in stainless steel, and aged in bottle for 12 months before release
