It is more serious, with more tension and more elegant and polished tannins, a subtler and more harmonious wine with citrus and floral characteristics. It’s still quite primary but has complexity, depth and a mineral feeling, the texture on the palate.”

Harvested 13 September, 20% whole cluster, foot-trodden grapes. Spontaneous fermentation lasting 28 days in above-ground concrete tanks, then aged for 7 months in underground concrete tanks.Tar and raspberries, cherries and herbs. Despite the hot vintage this is super-fresh, with bright acidity. It’s light in feel yet saturated with red-fruit flavour deepened by a darker, earthy undertow. Garnacha in a Burgundian mode, transparent in weight and fine-grained in tannins yet with lasting presence. Ready now; bring on the rosemary-roasted lamb and potatoes”.
