Description
The vines for Clos des Grands Primos thrive in a unique blend of gneiss, mica, and schist soils, shaping the classic character of Muscadet. On the nose, you’ll find notes of grapefruit, salted apple, melon, and a touch of flint. The palate is bright and lively, with crisp acidity that elevates every sip. This is truly one of the standout Muscadets in the collection—an authentic expression of its terroir and a must-try for lovers of fresh, mineral-driven white wines.
Located near Nantes in the commune of Le Pallet, the Bedouet estate traces its roots to the early 1900s. The story began when Henri Bedouet, a skilled cooper, started share-cropping with the vineyard’s original landowner, laying the foundation for a family legacy in winemaking. The estate was passed down to Henri’s son and eventually to his grandson, Michel, who became the driving force behind the winery’s evolution. In 1990, Michel acquired the estate, guided by a deep respect for nature and a commitment to nurturing the land. His passion led to the organic conversion of the vineyards, ensuring the health and vitality of the soils for generations to come.
Michel’s approach to winemaking is simple and traditional, allowing the true character of the grapes to shine. The result is a collection of elegant, fruit-driven wines, each layered with the complex minerality imparted by the unique soils. This harmonious balance delivers wines that offer a pure, authentic expression of their terroir—from the first aroma to the last sip.
