Description
The 2024 Pinot Noir Cuvée 909 is named after the years the monks left to start building Cluny in 910. It has only 11% alcohol, much lighter than last year. It's the domaine Pinot Noir and comes from Pinot Droit vines planted in 1998 in the lieu-dit En Beuzard in the neighboring village of Ménetru-le-Vignoble on limestone soils that are not that different from those in Burgundy. It was produced with an old style of winemaking (destemmed grapes) but without using any added sulfur. It fermented with 30% full clusters because the stems were not very ripe, and they only did 10 days of maceration. It matured in stainless steel tank because he didn't produce it in 2023 and didn't want to buy new barrels for it. It's a light Pinot Noir with a bright ruby color and contained ripeness in a cooler year. It has a medium- to full-bodied palate with fine tannins and very good balance and freshness. This has purity and elegance and is easy to drink. 2,000 bottles were filled in August 2025 balance. 94/100 Luis Gutiérrez, Published: Sept 25, 2026, The Wine Advocate
