This is Vincent Laval’s NV Extra-Brut “Garennes” at its most expressive – rich, ample and instantly inviting, with the signature textural intensity that makes his wines so sought after. Built on 90% Meunier (with 5% each Pinot Noir and Chardonnay), it’s a boisterous, characterful Champagne, packed with generous Meunier depth. With a little air, layers of dried pear, hazelnut and crushed flowers unfold in the glass, adding nuance and complexity. This release is based on the 2016 vintage, supported by 40% reserve wines from 2015, 2014 and 2013, and it shows: there’s real harmony and breadth here. The “Garennes” cuvée keeps getting better, and this is the most complex, complete edition yet.
