Domaine Bonnigal Bonnet Public Tasting Saturday 29th August 12pm-2pm

This week, we’re delighted to welcome our friend Loïc Avril from As You Wish Wines, who will be pouring and showcasing one of his favourite producers from the Loire Valley: Domaine Bonnigal-Bonnet.

Loïc needs little introduction — formerly Head Sommelier at The Fat Duck, he is now Beverage Director of the Lucas Collective and was named the 3rd Best Sommelier of Asia & Oceania in 2022.

Domaine Bonnigal-Bonnet was founded by best friends Jean-Baptiste Bonnigal and Stéphane Bodet, whose paths first crossed in the wine industry in Saint-Émilion. After gaining their diplomas, Stéphane remained in Saint-Émilion while Jean-Baptiste travelled to New Zealand and Australia before returning to the Loire, where he worked for several years with François Chidaine in Montlouis-sur-Loire.

In 2016, Jean-Baptiste took over his family estate in Amboise and invited Stéphane to join him. Together, they share a vision centred on purity, precision and a deep commitment to organic and biodynamic farming. Their vines are carefully tended through regular hoeing, minimal treatments, leaf thinning and manual harvesting. In the cellar, fermentations rely on native yeasts, while tirage for their sparkling wines is completed at the domaine.
