Description
This release marks a departure from tradition for the Mosse family. In previous years, the prized Chenin Blanc grapes from their renowned Bonnes Blanches vineyard were used exclusively for a wine of the same name. The vineyard itself boasts excellent exposure and distinctive silt and shale soils, scattered with the small white pebbles that inspired its name.
With vines around 40 years old, Bonnes Blanches is organically farmed and certified by Qualité France. Yields are kept low—just 25 hectolitres per hectare, compared to the 60–100 typical of conventional vineyards—ensuring exceptional grape quality.
After hand-harvesting, the grapes underwent 11 days of carbonic maceration, with the juice drawn off daily. The wine was then aged for 10 months in seasoned wooden barrels before bottling in July 2021.
The result is a beautifully macerated Chenin Blanc, offering fine tannins and enticing aromas of candied citrus, fresh almonds, and herbaceous notes. An exceptional wine that truly reflects its unique terroir.
