2021 Domaine Du Collier Saumur Champigny La Charpentrie

The 2021 La Charpentrie offers wonderful richness without heaviness, which is the job of red Saumur at its best. There’s a tranquillity about the 2021, as if it’s been tended with love and respect, which it has been. This is charming and inviting even at this youthful stage, with lovely succulence despite an elegant frame. While the 2021 is still in its primary, fruity stage with an attractive smokiness, it is already a delight to drink. That said, it also has everything to assure a long, successful life. 

2020 Chateau Yvonne Saumur Champigny Le Beaumeray

100% Cabernet Franc. Biodynamically farmed and certified organic. Mathieu Vallée introduced two single-vineyard wines – Le Beaumeray (red) and Le Gory (white). Planted from selection massale from Le Bourg of Clos Rougeard, Le Beaumeray vines may be young, but there are planted on some of the finest terroir in La Côte, and already produce stunning Cabernet Franc with a rare sense of grace.
