Description
Viognier from four plots-Chauramond, St-Michel, Chéry and Condrieu planted in the 80’s and one 100 year + plot from Verlieu. Vat fermented, then placed in 80% new and 1-4 year old 228-litre, 300-litre & 400-litre oak casks (total new oak 15-20%), and 20% steel vat, raised 12 months.
“Leading off the Condrieu, the 2023 Condrieu spent 10 months in a mix of barrels and tanks, with harvest starting on September 4. It’s medium gold-hued with a gorgeous perfume of honeyed peach, marmalade, flowers, and quince. Medium to full-bodied, it has a pure, elegant mouthfeel, a remarkable sense of freshness, and a great finish. It will keep for 8-10 years, although I would drink bottles over the coming 5-7 or so, as I love the fruit in this cuvée. Drink 2025-2035.” 93 points JebDunnuck.com Sept 2025
“Yellow robe; a discreet air combines pear and lime, is attractive, light on its feet. The palate links well, gives a gently tuned run of small white fruits, plums, greengages, with some cooked citrus freshness. It’s a cosy Condrieu, rounded and understated, has purity. 13°. 2031-32 Apr 2025” – 4 stars JJL The Rhone Report
“Apricot, peach and nectarine; this has good fruit intensity and a full, opulent palate. The acidity just about cuts through, contributing to a long finish. Juicy and fleshy, drinkable and delicious – drink it young. Fermented initially in stainless steel to control the temperatures, then finished in 300L barrels. Certified Haute Valeur Environnementale. Drink 2024-2026” 94 points Matt Walls for Decanter tasted in Oct 2024
