Description
Floral and green leaves on the nose, with white fruits and citrus fruits aromas.Round on the palate, with a nice balanced acidity and a delectable touch of apple and pineapple.
From humble beginnings to a Loire Valley gem, the Le Capitaine family estate is a testament to passion, innovation, and tradition. In 1987, Alain Le Capitaine planted the very first vines on his family’s land in Vouvray, nurturing both his own parcels and those he farmed for others.
His brother Christophe joined in 1998, and the next generation—Christophe’s son, Florian—came on board in 2013. Together, this dynamic trio embodies the new wave of Loire vignerons: open-minded, forward-thinking, and dedicated to crafting Chenin Blancs of remarkable character.
Today, the Le Capitaines tend 28 hectares of vines, including three family-owned plots nestled in the chalky tuffeau and silica soils of Rochecorbon, on the right bank of the Loire River. Their meticulous, parcel-by-parcel approach includes temperature-controlled vinification in stainless steel and blocking malolactic fermentation to preserve each wine’s vibrant freshness. Each cuvée is gently aged on fine lees for six to twelve months, allowing its unique personality to shine.
From floral and mineral-driven to rich and opulent, the Le Capitaines’ Chenin Blancs—ranging from still to sparkling, dry to sweet—are crafted for pure enjoyment and immediate pleasure. Experience the artistry and balance that set these Loire Valley wines apart
